LOS ANGELES, CA — November 5, 2026
LAXToGo and Lux4Rides have combined their fleets behind a single dedicated Nuna car seat program at Los Angeles International Airport — more than 40 Nuna seats across infant, convertible and booster models, installed by the chauffeur before the vehicle reaches the terminal, and guaranteed with every family reservation. Unlike rideshare car-seat options, which carry one seat per vehicle, the program can place multiple seats in a single vehicle, so a family travelling with two or three children under eight can ride together in one car.
Reservations are made through LAXToGo's booking system, where the seats are selected at the time of booking and confirmed before travel.

Why families struggle to get a car seat at LAX
California law requires every child under 8 to ride in a car seat or booster unless they are 4'9" or taller. The law does not care that the family has just stepped off a ten-hour flight, and it does not exempt airport transfers.
The options available to an arriving family are thinner than they look:
- Rideshare car-seat services carry one seat per vehicle, usually a single convertible model, for an added fee. A family with two children under eight cannot legally be carried at all.
- Most car services offer a seat "on request" — no brand named, no inventory count published, and no guarantee that one will actually be on board when the car arrives.
- Taxis are generally exempt from the car seat requirement in California, which means a parent is choosing between a legal exemption and an unrestrained child.
- Bringing your own seat means carrying it through the terminal and gate-checking it, with the risk of damage in the hold.
The gap is not that seats do not exist. It is that nobody publishes how many they have, so a parent cannot tell the difference between a company with a stocked inventory and one that will apologise at the curb.
More than 40 Nuna seats, installed before you land
The combined program holds more than 40 Nuna seats across the two fleets, in three configurations:
- Infant — rear-facing, for newborns and babies under roughly one year
- Convertible — rear- or forward-facing, for toddlers and pre-schoolers
- Booster — for older children not yet 4'9"
Seats are fitted by the chauffeur before the vehicle is dispatched to the terminal, not handed over at the curb for a parent to install while traffic officers move cars along. Each seat is inspected and cleaned between uses.
Because the inventory is held across two fleets rather than one, a vehicle can be configured with more than one seat — the single most common requirement the rideshare services cannot meet.
Two fleets, one standard
LAXToGo and Lux4Rides operate as independent, separately licensed transportation companies. The two coordinate dispatch, which is what makes the combined inventory work in practice: a request that exceeds one fleet's available seats on a given morning can be covered by the other, in either direction.
LAXToGo contributes airport volume and familiarity with LAX terminal operations. Lux4Rides contributes its SUV and Sprinter capacity, which is what a family travelling with children, luggage and multiple seats actually needs.
“Families shouldn't have to gamble on a car seat after a flight,” said Sam Altabbaa, CEO of Lux4Rides. “We invested in the inventory because the alternative is a parent standing at arrivals with a toddler, finding out the seat they were promised isn't in the car.”
“At LAX the problem is never the drive, it's the handover,” said Hany Metri, founder of LAXToGo. “If the seat is already fitted when the car reaches the terminal, the family gets in and goes. That is the entire difference.”
How to book a car seat at LAX
- Enter your pickup, drop-off, date and time in the LAXToGo booking system.
- Add the car seats you need — infant, convertible or booster — at the time of booking, including more than one.
- Give your flight number so the pickup tracks your actual landing time.
- Your confirmation states the seats on the reservation. They are fitted before the vehicle is dispatched.
Booking ahead matters more for seats than for vehicles: inventory is finite, and the busiest mornings are the ones where families arrive together. Our LAX car service with car seats page covers the detail, and LAX to Disneyland covers the route most of these families are taking.
Frequently asked questions
Do you provide car seats at LAX?
Yes. More than 40 Nuna seats across infant, convertible and booster models are held across the LAXToGo and Lux4Rides fleets, fitted before the vehicle reaches the terminal and confirmed on your reservation.
Which car seat brand and models do you use?
Nuna, in infant, convertible and booster configurations, chosen for the age and height of each child on the booking.
How many car seats can one vehicle take?
More than one. This is the main difference from rideshare car-seat services, which carry a single seat per vehicle. An SUV or Sprinter can be configured for multiple children travelling together.
Is there a charge for a car seat?
Car seat charges, where they apply, are shown in the booking system before you reserve. You see the full price before you commit, not after.
How far ahead do I need to book a car seat?
As early as you can. Vehicles are usually available at short notice; seat inventory is finite and the morning arrival banks are when demand concentrates.
Can you take us from LAX to Disneyland with a car seat?
Yes, and it is the most common request this program serves. Roughly 35 miles, with the 405 and 22 as the variable rather than the distance.
Does California law require a car seat in an airport transfer?
Yes for a private chauffeured vehicle. Children under 8 must ride in a car seat or booster unless they are 4'9" or taller. Taxis are generally exempt under California law; private car services are not.
